Biography of M. Theresa
A
Tribute To Modern Saint - Mother Teresa
My story begins in 2003 while I was reading a spirituality-themed
magazine during a vacation in Maui. I came across this phenomenal
photo of Mother Teresa in communion with The Missionaries of Charity--- I
literally had to catch my breath. I sat in awe, admiring how this incredible
photograph captured the sacred light of a gathering, as if emanating from
the photo itself. I immediately felt compelled to contact the photographer to
purchase this wonderful image of a woman whose mission continues to change the
way "our world will do service," in the coming years.
I believe, as we venture forth in this new era, service
will evolve dramatically. We are in a
new time of community building, of family, of caring and sharing more
of what we have and how we give- than ever before. If we
do not begin to think and work from more of a communal mindset, peace
cannot exist. In communion, we accept others unconditionally, knowing where they
are on their journey is the place at which they need to be… or they would be
elsewhere. When we separate from others, we're breaking away from Source,
and it is at this point we truly begin to falter. Each path may
be somewhat different but each heading to a place of Oneness. Humanity has
a ways to go to get to this place in time but we will get there as the
golden age of time is upon us!
Mother Teresa’s was an example of a beloved being in true communion with
others. She provided loving and selfless service to the most challenging
depictions of human suffering. Hers was the kind of service that deserves our
recognition. Her work will blossom as time moves forward! We truly are in
exciting times!
Won’t you join us now by supporting the essence
of her work?
Who Are You And Why Are You Here?
Dear Sacred Memory –
I am most fortunate to have had the grace to meet and travel with a Hindu holy man, Keshavadas, when I lived in Oakland in the early 1990s.
Early in our student-teacher relationship, I was blesses to accompany him and a group of devotees to India on pilgrimage, and while there we visited Mother Teresa’s convent in Calcutta, as imaged here. She was clear in her advice that we should each trust and love God and Jesus. Simply, directly.
In the years since, I have developed a retreat and meditation center. We are gathering a community – a small number of us are permanent residents, and many come annually to stay and work among us as temporary guest retreatants, they add to our community immeasurably.
Our community holds as its goals to live in harmony with each other, with nature - as the earth, the plant life, the climate and the unseens – and with all beings who share our planet.
We hold a value for honesty, directness and kindness in our dealings with each other and with those beyond our homes.
And we have found that we are each inherently healers – of our selves, of each other in loving-kindness, and of the whole of mankind as we concern ourselves with the contentment and well-being of all.
I love the example that Mother Teresa was and showed us all. She improved the human consciousness and heart by living her truth.
Thank you for this opportunity to share our story.
Namaste,
Donna Daniel, Ed.D.
